Six years ago, I began a journey of anticipatory grief with my niece after she was diagnosed with cancer. After she passed away in 2023, I continued supporting my sister through her grieving process. That experience gave me a real passion and desire to support others who are grieving many different kinds of loss.

I had taken some other grief courses, but I found that some of the suggested practices did not align with my beliefs. That is one of the reasons I chose the Joy Restoration / Christian Grief Coach training. I wanted a Christian-based approach that would allow me to help others without setting aside my faith.

Through the training, my desire to work with grieving people has grown even stronger, particularly children who are experiencing loss due to trauma. I truly feel the Lord is leading me toward this work and giving me a desire to offer people the hope they so desperately need.

The faith-based approach of the program has given me confidence that I CAN do this with the Lord’s strength. I am learning to trust Him to work out the details, open the right doors, and show me the next steps in His time.

I still don’t know exactly where this journey will lead, but I believe I was led to this training for a reason. I am praying for God’s wisdom and direction and trusting His plan for how I can use what I have learned to help others.
